The Chairman of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC) and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Aboudi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the fields of bilateral cooperation with the Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), Alexei Likhachev. The Chairman of the Iraqi Atomic Energy Commission (IAEC), Dr Naim Al-Aboudi, said on the sidelines of the 68th IAEA General Conference in Vienna that this MoU is the first of its kind in the peaceful use of atomic energy that Iraq signed after 2003 and the first for the IAEC after the legislation of its law. He said the bilateral MoU has important significance.
