The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organised a workshop on the general population census and its impact on the development movement in Iraq. The workshop, which was attended by representatives of the High Authority for the General Population and Housing Census, included a presentation on the importance of the role of the Ministry of Higher Education in the success of the census by employing its scientific staff, providing its expertise, raising community awareness, providing the technical competencies needed to analyse the data and investing the census results to improve educational and research plans to achieve the objectives of comprehensive development. The workshop, which was attended by a group of employees of the ministry’s centre, discussed the importance of the general census as it provides an integrated information system.
