Karbala University organises a course on gender justice

The Gender Justice Unit at Karbala University held a course entitled (Multiple Visions of Gender Justice) legal, psychological, technological and social challenges, with the participation of a number of professors and employees from various faculties of the university, in the presence of the assistants of the university president and a number of deans of the faculties.

The Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Mohammed Omran, said that Karbala University embraces the gender justice course to confirm the lofty principles called for by the Quran and to ensure the achievement of equality between men and women in rights and duties, and that gender justice goes beyond theoretical equality to include removing obstacles and challenges that prevent each individual from reaching their potential and capabilities, regardless of their gender.

He added that gender justice does not mean uniformity in roles, but rather recognizing the importance of diversity and providing equal opportunities to achieve justice and equity, and access to equal opportunities in education and work, enhances individual productivity, reduces social and economic gaps, and contributes effectively to achieving societal security.

He emphasized that Karbala University seeks through this course to instill the values of justice and equality in the hearts of young people, to be the pillar of building society and the future of the homeland and to contribute to achieving sustainable development and a better future for all.

On the other hand, the head of the Social Justice Unit, Ms. Hawra Razzaq, said that the aim of holding the course is to promote awareness of the rights of all and achieve balance between males and females in matters related to equal opportunities in various fields as well as in reducing negative phenomena for both parties.
