The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Naim Al-Aboudi, inaugurated the Al Ain University Teaching Hospital at the Faculty of Medicine at Al Ain Iraqi University in Dhi Qar Governorate.
In his speech during the official ceremony, he stressed that the opening of Al Ain University Teaching Hospital will provide the environment of medical education in Iraq with an important qualitative addition and will give impetus to the development of the environment of specialised services in medical schools in Iraq and provide what society aspires to from a direct scientific impact, pointing out that these efforts will contribute to finding solutions to challenges and push towards strengthening the environment of the health sector in Iraq.
The Minister of Education added that this important achievement is added to the index of achievements achieved in two years of the Iraqi government and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in terms of internationalisation of higher education, linking academic programmes with global variables, securing the path of the Iraqi certificate, international recognition of the National Accreditation Council for Medical Colleges, the rise of the Iraqi scientific research balance in hospitals and attracting international students in Iraqi universities.
The opening ceremony witnessed speeches by the President of Al-Ain Iraqi University and the Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Unveiling of University Teaching Hospitals, while the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr Naim Al-Aboudi toured the corridors of the hospital, looking at its medical and technical departments, laboratories, outpatient clinics, operating environment and educational facilities that provide practical training for students in various medical and health specialties.
