College of Computer Science and Information Technology Organizes Seminar on Smoking and Its Harmful Effects on Human Health and Society

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized a seminar titled “Smoking and Its Harmful Effects on Human Health and Society.”

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Marwa Abdul Azim and Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Abdul Hassan Abdul Aoun and was attended by a group of faculty members and students in Al-Khwarizmi Hall at the college.

The event aimed to raise awareness, promote health education, encourage healthy behaviors, and contribute to combating smoking and reducing its spread within society.

The seminar concluded with several key recommendations, including:

  • Increasing awareness of the health, psychological, and social risks of smoking.
  • Encouraging the use of nicotine replacement therapies under medical supervision.
  • Organizing activities and competitions that motivate students and community members to quit smoking.

This seminar is considered a valuable initiative that aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being.
