At the seventh annual conference of the College of Political Science at the University of Al-Nahrain, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’im Al-Abboudi, affirmed the adoption of a policy to internationalize higher education and attract international students as part of the “Study in Iraq” program.
During his speech at the opening of the conference, titled “Iraq’s Position in Light of Regional and International Changes,” Al-Abboudi stated that the Ministry of Higher Education has adopted a policy aimed at internationalizing higher education and aligning its academic programs with global knowledge trends. He praised the ministry’s success in engaging with reputable educational institutions internationally and creating twinning opportunities with global universities across various disciplines to promote development in Iraq.
He explained that the coordination between educational strategy, governmental programs, and ministerial curricula has enabled the investment of all available opportunities, the mobilization of existing capacities, and the achievement of desired results in the educational process.
The conference included various segments, including speeches by the President of Al-Nahrain University and the Dean of the College of Political Science, as well as research sessions covering multiple topics such as Iraq’s position amidst regional and international transformations, Iraq’s foreign and domestic policies for stability and development, and Iraq’s economic policy amidst regional changes.
