As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Information Technology at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology – University of Karbala, and under the direct supervision and guidance of Assistant Professor Mowaffaq Al-Hasnawi, Dean of the College, and Dr. Maha Sabri Al-Tamimi, Head of the Information Technology Department, an educational field trip was organized for first-year students to Asiacell Telecommunications Company.
The aim of this visit was to expose students to the technical aspects of the company’s operations and to strengthen their practical understanding of the concepts they study in class.
Several company employees delivered two valuable introductory lectures, focusing on:
- The technical workflows within the company,
- Methods for enhancing students’ professional competencies,
- And encouraging them to excel in both scientific and technical fields.
A group of faculty members accompanied the students during the visit. After the lectures, students were taken on a field tour of the company’s technical departments, where they had the opportunity to observe the work environment firsthand and learn about the systems used in managing telecommunications services.
This initiative reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between academic education and practical application, and to preparing students for the job market through real-world experiences and direct engagement with private sector institutions.
