In Line with Ministry of Higher Education Recommendations: University of Karbala Launches Its Largest Training Program for Newly Appointed Staff

The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Karbala has launched its first professional development course for newly appointed staff, under the guidance of the University President, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali. The training targets employees appointed in 2023 and beyond.

The course aims to enhance the administrative and legal awareness of new employees and to equip them with the essential knowledge needed to effectively integrate into the university work environment and contribute to improving institutional performance.

Dr. Aysar Ashour Khalaf, Director of the Center for Continuing Education, stated that “the course was organized in response to directives from the University President, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, to develop the administrative and legal competencies of new hires from the very beginning of their careers. It aligns with the instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in this regard.”

She added that “the course includes 2,500 newly appointed staff members, divided into groups of 250. Each group undergoes a three-day training program, which concludes with an assessment to evaluate participants’ comprehension of the covered topics.”

This initiative is part of a broader series of qualification programs the University is implementing to strengthen staff capabilities and improve institutional performance in accordance with quality and academic performance standards.
