Karbala Academics Elect New Council Members of the Academics’ Syndicate… University President Commends Former Leadership

The University of Karbala hosted the third electoral conference for the General Assembly of the Iraqi Academics’ Syndicate – Karbala Branch.

The conference included a voting process to elect 10 members to the Syndicate’s Administrative Council, with 18 academic candidates competing for the positions. The election was supervised by a committee from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Waad Al-Dulaimi.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, the University President, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, praised the efforts of the former president and council members of the Syndicate for their dedication in serving the academic community.

“We hope this new term will mark a promising start toward greater organization, communication, and positive influence on educational policies,” Dr. Wajid added, noting that “positive accumulation of efforts is the foundation of all progress and stability.”

The conference was attended by University President Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, his administrative and scientific deputies Dr. Jassim Al-Maamouri and Dr. Haidar Mohammed Imran, the Governor of Karbala Eng. Nassif Al-Khattabi, along with the President and members of the Provincial Council, parliamentary and governmental representatives, as well as a distinguished group of deans and academics from inside and outside the university.
