As part of its plan for the 2025–2026 academic year, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the competitive examination for admission to graduate programs (Higher Diploma, Master’s, and Doctorate) in all Iraqi public universities.

Approximately 54,000 applicants are participating in the exam, competing for the 31,000 available seats distributed across various admission channels.

For the 2025–2026 academic year, a total of 2,421 graduate programs have been opened across various disciplines, aligned with the needs of universities, the labor market, and developmental sectors.

Universities will begin the interview process for applicants on June 30, 2025. The results of the competitive exam will be announced on July 2–3, and preliminary admissions will be published on July 10, 2025, through the official websites of the colleges.

In this context, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirms its commitment to providing an academic environment that promotes the principle of equal opportunity and fosters rigorous scientific competition among applicants, in preparation for the start of the academic year on September 1.
