The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored international graduation projects and the winners of the Excellence Award during the Arab Architecture Festival, held in celebration of Baghdad’s selection as the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2025.
In his speech, delivered on behalf of the Prime Minister and attended by advisors, representatives of professional associations, international and Iraqi experts, and delegates from various Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, Dr. Al-Aboudi emphasized that the festival represents a genuine opportunity to support creative and distinguished architects in the Arab world. He noted it serves as a motivation to propose innovative solutions that contribute to the modernization and reconstruction of cities while preserving their historical and cultural identity.
The Minister reiterated the importance of strengthening Arab and international cooperation in the implementation of joint projects. He also affirmed Iraq’s commitment to fostering productive partnerships with scientific and cultural dimensions that support the foundations of sustainable development, in line with a comprehensive vision that enhances Iraq’s position within the Arab, regional, and global arenas.
The closing ceremony, hosted at the historic Al-Mustansiriya School, featured speeches and presentations by a select group of architects and jury members. The event concluded with Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi presenting prestigious awards celebrating excellence and innovation.
