The Quality Assurance Division of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology at the University of Karbala held an online training workshop on how to verify the indexing of the journal for scientific research and publishing purposes, on Sunday 3/26/2023 at 8:30pm
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ashwan Abdel Moneim / Karbala University and Professor Dr. Aseel Muhammad Ali Hussein / Al-Nahrain University.
The course curriculum included:
• How to test the magazine if it is in the Scopus container and owns Site Score.
• How to test the journal if it is in the Web of Science container and has an impact factor.
• How to determine the magazine’s ranking within any quarter.
• How to test the magazine and the publishing destination if it is not reliable or hijacked, with examples of magazines that are in the Scopus container but hijacked.
The target group in this workshop were postgraduate students, teachers and researchers.
The aim of the workshop is to introduce the types of approved global containers. Examination of the journal and the publishing destination, whether it is reliable, not reliable, or hijacked.
Dr. Ashwan told the Media Division, “This workshop was held to protect what researchers are exposed to from the negative aspects of some journals during the publication of their research, and thus the loss of their efforts and entitlements, as well as the protection of studies students and researchers before publishing their research by introducing them to solid scientific journals.”
