The General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities concluded with a vote in support of the initiative to establish an Arab Higher Education Zone.

The conference, held at the University of Baghdad, saw members of the union voting to endorse the initiative put forward by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’eem Al-Aboudi. This initiative was praised for its aim to empower Arab universities to achieve their goals within a unified academic framework.

Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, emphasized the conference’s welcoming and appreciation of the initiative proposed by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Republic of Iraq regarding the establishment of a unified Arab zone for higher education. He reaffirmed the conference’s commitment to implementing this outstanding initiative.

After the conference proceedings, participation certificates and membership were awarded to the Arab universities that joined the union, totaling thirty universities.
