The College of Computer Science and Information Technology organized a workshop titled “The Role of Education in Combating Terrorism and Extremism” on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Al-Khwarizmi Hall for the second and final day. The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Rafal Khudair Abbas and Mr. Maitham Ali Hussein.

The workshop aims to introduce extremism and clarify the distinction between it and terrorism, highlighting the importance of the educational institution’s role in combating it.
The workshop also addressed the concept of extremism, its manifestations, as well as how to address extremism and the methods to be followed.
