On the Occasion of the Sacred Day of Ashura: The Minister of Higher Education Extends Condolences on the Martyrdom of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him)

Each year, and in every moment that truth triumphs over falsehood, the sacred message of Ashura is renewed. From this timeless event, we draw inspiration—lessons of sacrifice, steadfastness in principle, patience, dignity, freedom, and the heroic stance exemplified by Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), his noble family, and his loyal companions (may peace be upon them all) during the epic of Karbala. This momentous stand, marked by the month of Muharram, took martyrdom as its banner and Karbala as its battlefield to uphold the eternal values of Islam.

As we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Islamic nation, the Iraqi people, and all the free people of the world on this solemn occasion of Ashura, we recall the profound message and deep awareness embodied in this historic event. It remains a living conscience and guiding light for generations in the face of tyranny and oppression.

We ask Almighty God to bless our people and our nation with goodness, righteousness, and the acceptance of good deeds. Indeed, He is All-Hearing and Responsive.
