The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Higher Education in the Republic of Turkey regarding the establishment of branches of Turkish public universities in Iraq.
The MoU, signed under the auspices of the Prime Minister during his official visit to Ankara, aims to strengthen cooperation and enhance bilateral relations in the field of higher education and scientific research.
According to the MoU, which comes into effect from the date of signing, the establishment of Turkish public university branches in Iraq will be subject to the approval of the relevant Iraqi authorities and in accordance with applicable Iraqi legislation.
In this regard, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, affirmed that the signed MoU represents a continuation of the policy and approach of academic openness adopted by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, as well as its vision for the internationalization of university education and the activation of global academic partnerships.
