Minister of Higher Education Announces Full Exemption of Students with Disabilities from Tuition Fees and Reaffirms Support for Social Welfare Beneficiaries


The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, received the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Al-Asadi, where they discussed a number of joint files, foremost among them the project of the Supreme Coordinating Council for Training and Technical Education.

During a joint press conference, Minister Al-Aboudi reaffirmed his close attention to the needs of beneficiaries of the Social Welfare Grant, as well as the decision granting a 50% reduction in tuition fees at both public and private universities.

He further announced his approval of a 100% exemption from tuition fees for students with disabilities, instructing the relevant departments to provide all necessary facilities to enable these groups to continue their academic journey and fulfill their scientific aspirations at Iraqi universities.

For his part, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mr. Ahmed Al-Asadi expressed his sincere appreciation for the cooperation between the two ministries, stressing that this partnership serves the public interest and strengthens responsiveness to the needs of society, particularly those covered by the Social Welfare Law.
