The Student Activities Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology held an educational scientific seminar titled “The Culture of Volunteer Work and Its Role in Serving the Community,” as part of its efforts to promote a culture of volunteerism among students and raise awareness about its importance in building and developing society.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Alaa Shabib Kazem and Assistant Lecturer Fadel Abbas Sabah. They discussed the significance of volunteer work in reinforcing the values of cooperation and social solidarity, as well as its role in shaping students’ personalities and developing their social and leadership skills.
The seminar was attended by a number of faculty members and students from the college. It featured fruitful discussions on ways to activate volunteer initiatives both within and outside the university, in addition to presenting several successful experiences in this field.
The speakers emphasized the importance of involving youth in volunteer activities and encouraging them to take initiative and engage in community participation, due to its positive impact on strengthening national belonging and supporting sustainable development.
