Under the patronage of the President of the University of Karbala, Professor Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Mowaffaq Kazem Al-Hasnawi, the College organized a memorial ceremony to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), under the slogan:
“Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq: A Ray of Truth in a World of Injustice.”
The event was held at Al-Khwarizmi Hall in the College of Computer Science and Information Technology on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
The memorial ceremony featured a variety of segments, beginning with a blessed recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by student Muntadher Falah, followed by an elegy poem delivered by student Yass Khudr, expressing deep loyalty and devotion to the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
Assistant Professor Dr. Taghreed Abdul Ameer Marhoon then delivered a valuable lecture on the noble life of Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) and his pivotal role in promoting the principles of knowledge and science during an era marked by widespread oppression and injustice.
The ceremony was skillfully hosted by student Layla Fadel, whose role as master of ceremonies contributed to the harmonious and well-organized atmosphere of the event.
This memorial ceremony is part of the meaningful activities organized by the College of Computer Science and Information Technology to strengthen religious and human values among students and to inspire them through the exemplary life of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
