Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, visited Al-Imam Al-Azam College and toured its educational environment, academic departments, and scientific laboratories.
In his address—delivered in the presence of Dr. Mashaan Al-Khazraji, Head of the Sunni Endowment Office; Dr. Adnan Al-Jumaili, Deputy Minister of Higher Education; the Dean of the College; and members of its council—the Minister called for the transformation of both Al-Imam Al-Azam College and Al-Imam Al-Kadhim (A.S.) College into full-fledged universities. This proposal aims to modernize and advance the scientific dimension of these institutions and to adapt to the evolving landscape of academic development while meeting the requirements of programmatic and institutional quality and accreditation.
During his visit, Dr. Al-Aboudi also inspected several educational laboratories, libraries, final examination environments, and postgraduate study halls. He reaffirmed the importance of pursuing international partnerships and aligning with global developments that drive the advancement of higher education institutions, particularly in the areas of curriculum development, educational methodologies, academic teaching and research environments, international publication, innovation, and the internationalization of education.
