The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research participated in the General Assembly meetings of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), held in the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Abdul Jameeli, the Deputy Minister, represented the Ministry in the sessions held under the theme “Outcomes of COP28: Infrastructure, Policies, and Skills Required to Triple Renewable Energy Capacity and Accelerate Energy Transition”.
The dialogues saw the participation of over 1300 delegates from 144 countries, including ministers and executive officials. Participants discussed the strategic pathway for countries and regions worldwide based on the outcomes of COP28 and the first global assessment of the Paris Agreement implementation.
The participants reviewed energy transition priorities and the necessary steps to accelerate progress towards tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030.
