The President of the University of Karbala, Prof. Dr. Sabah Wajid Ali, met with the Director of the Water Resources Department in the province, Engineer Abdul Amir Al-Kharsan. The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the university and government institutions working on infrastructure and key development projects.
During the meeting, they talked about ways to support water-related projects in the city and how to make use of the university’s scientific and research capabilities, especially in engineering, environmental studies, and natural resources.
They also discussed involving university professors and researchers in preparing technical and advisory studies that could help improve water resource systems and ensure sustainable management, particularly in light of current climate and environmental challenges.
Dr. Wajid emphasized that the university is eager to build partnerships with all government institutions, reinforcing its role as a key academic player in serving the community.
For his part, the Water Resources Director expressed his appreciation for the university’s support of government efforts and stressed the importance of keeping this collaboration going, as it plays a big role in achieving sustainable development in the province.
At the end of the meeting, the university president received an invitation to attend the upcoming Baghdad International Water Conference.
